William Lyon

William H. Lyon is the former Executive Chairman and Chairman of the Board of Directors of William Lyon Homes. Mr. Lyon’s father, General William Lyon entered the building business in 1954. His combined companies produced more than 100,000 residential units spanning a history of more than 60 years. The company built attached and detached homes throughout California, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, Oregon, Washington, and Texas.

Bill joined William Lyon Homes in November 1997. Prior to being named Executive Chairman and Chairman of the Board in March 2016, he held the positions of Assistant Project Manager, Project Manager, Director of Corporate Development, Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer, President and Chief Operating Officer, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Chief Executive Officer and Vice Chairman. Also, he served in 2008 as President of the subsidiary mortgage company, William Lyon Financial.
