Raj Shukla serves as the Executive Vice President, Corporate Counsel, and Head of Corporate Development and Strategy at Commercial Bank of California (CBC). With over two decades of experience in corporate law and strategic development, Raj plays a pivotal role in guiding CBC’s growth and ensuring its legal integrity.
Before joining CBC, Raj held significant positions in the financial sector. He was the Senior Vice President and General Counsel at Opus Bank, where he oversaw legal affairs and contributed to strategic initiatives. Prior to that, he served as Vice President and Associate General Counsel at Goldman Sachs, providing legal counsel on complex financial transactions. Raj also gained valuable experience as an Associate at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP, focusing on corporate law and mergers and acquisitions.
At CBC, Raj leads the Corporate Development group, evaluating “build, buy, or license” decisions to drive the bank’s expansion. His extensive background in mergers and acquisitions enables him to assess opportunities that align with CBC’s mission of delivering innovative financial solutions.
