About Helen

Helen Wyman is a dynamic community development leader with over seven years of experience in marketing, business development, and relationship banking—focused on Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs), nonprofits, and mission-driven businesses. As Community Development Director at Commercial Bank of California, Helen works to expand access to capital and banking services for organizations creating meaningful social and economic impact.

Before Commercial Bank of California acquired Community Bank of the Bay, Helen spent over eight years at CBB, where she advanced from Assistant Vice President of Marketing to Community Banking Officer and AVP. There, she organically built a $54 million deposit portfolio and $6 million in loans, led strategic sponsorships, and played a pivotal role in supporting small businesses during the COVID-19 crisis—helping distribute PPP funding in partnership with nonprofits like the Oakland Black Business Fund.

Helen’s strengths lie in trust-based relationship building, event strategy, and mission-aligned growth. She has a proven track record of turning marketing into measurable impact—driving 50% asset growth through communications, community engagement, and strategic partnerships.

Whether she’s supporting economic justice efforts or helping local nonprofits grow their financial footprint, Helen leads with passion, creativity, and a commitment to making banking a force for good.
