About Christie

Christie Scourtes is a banking and sustainability leader with a 20-year career rooted in the belief that business can be a powerful force for positive change. As Vice President, Community Impact & Green Fund Director at Commercial Bank of California, Christie brings more than 15 years of experience in impact banking to lead and grow the California Green Fund, helping connect CBC’s financial capabilities with businesses and organizations advancing environmental and community-focused solutions.

Christie began her banking career in 2006 at New Resource Bank, an early leader in sustainable banking. Over nearly a decade, she helped shape the bank’s operations, cash management and client service functions while also advancing its own sustainability practices, including environmental policy development, carbon footprint tracking and B Corp and Green Business certifications.

She later joined Propeller, a business management consulting firm, where she advised public- and private-sector organizations on strategy, technology and organizational change. In 2021, Christie returned to banking as Director of Branch Operations at Community Bank of the Bay, overseeing the bank’s four branches. Following CBC’s acquisition of Community Bank of the Bay, she continued to lead branch operations for the Northern California region before moving into her current role leading the California Green Fund and CBC’s community impact efforts.

Christie holds a B.A. in Sociology from UC Berkeley and an MBA in Sustainable Business Strategy from Presidio Graduate School. Her experience across impact banking, sustainability, operations and organizational strategy uniquely positions her to lead the Green Fund, working alongside CBC’s bankers and clients to build a program that supports environmental progress, stronger communities and sustainable business growth.
